Cathy takes the reins from the word go! She is thorough & honest, listens to your likes & dislikes & what your vision for your trip is. She aims to deliver that vision plus some! Writing to express our appreciation to Cathy Nichols, as this is the first time using Cruise Planners for our recent Viking Empires of the Mediterranean vacation.
Our experience with Cruise Planners for our Greece cruise was exceptional. From the initial consultation to the final itinerary, Cathy was attentive, professional, and highly knowledgeable about the destinations and excursion options. She took the time to understand our wants, ensuring the itinerary included a perfect balance of guided tours to iconic sites like the Acropolis, unique Monastery visits while providing leisure time to explore local culture.
Communication was spot on, not too much but just the right amount to make sure every detail was anticipated and executed—our planner promptly responded to emails and calls, addressing all questions about excursions, dining options, and onboard amenities. She provided detailed recommendations for pre- and post-cruise extensions, which made our trip to Greece, Montenegro, Croatia, and Slovenia even more memorable. It was such a great itinerary, surprised with the variety of scenery and architecture. My favorite excursion was the Salt and Vines tour, but I also really enjoyed the Family Estate tour, also in Croatia.
Overall, we really appreciated Cathy’s dedication, research and personalized recommendations which made our Viking Greece cruise unforgettable. When I began to work with Cathy Nichols to plan our 10 day Mediterranean Cruise, I learned quickly that her attention to detail is invaluable. The last time we took a cruise was 2016 and it’s incredible how much this industry has changed since that time. I’ve always been proud of my ability to plan a vacation but this trip was next level. It would not have gone glitch-free if not for Cathy’s dedication to ensuring all our details were complete. Nothing fell between the cracks. She was available with phone calls, zoom calls, emails & texts and she even met me for lunch to present me with a very organized packet of everything we would need from travel suitcase tags to train tickets. When planning an expensive vacation far from home, it’s important to be prepared. We were ready because of Cathy. Our room upgrade, transportation, hotels and port information would not have been organized properly without her help. We loved working with Cathy Nichols. Our group needed 5 separate rooms that were close to each other, as we took our cruise to celebrated our Mother’s 95th birthday!. Cathy was able to secure rooms near each other with the required amenities to fit the needs of all 10 adults that were traveling together. She was great with communications, details and ideas as she provided recommendations on things to do on and off the ship. It was an absolute pleasure to work with her. If you travel internationally you need backup. There are so many unexpected events that can occur and you need someone you can rely on to get it "fixed". That someone is Cathy Nichols. She watches out for all of her clients and stays ahead of the issues. If something needs attention, she makes sure it gets done. Once we were ten days away from a trip to Santiago, Chile when they decided to shut down the country - again for COVID. Cathy jumped into action and rolled out our travel, insurance and credits. Cathy makes sure we have all travel documents and supporting records timely. Don't leave home without her number and email address! If you travel internationally you need backup. Cathy put together a complete trip with caring and fun. The group worked together well and enjoyed all the adventures. I am sure new friends were made. She stayed on top of all tours and communicated timely on what we needed to do. There was never a feeling that if we wanted to opt out we could not do this. Cathy Nichols Planned our seven-night cruise adventure aboard Oceania Cruises – Sirena. This was our first cruise so we had many questions, which Cathy quickly answered. The entire process from planning to our return home was effortless with expert planning, each stop had knowledgeable guides waiting to take our group for interesting tours explaining the history of each region and how current cultural and established social norms work to date.
